Bill Laurance: piano, keyboards;
Max Luthert: bass;
Marijus Aleksa: drums.
Bill Laurance is a London-based pianist, composer and arranger and awarded at the Grammy, whose rise to fame with the world-renowned group Snarky Puppy it has paved the way for a flourishing solo career.
Laurance released his debut solo album “Flint” in 2014, followed shortly after by “Swift“. Both albums climbed the jazz charts and they were praised for their skillful musicality and emotional writing and arrangement. 2016 saw the release of his third solo effort, “Aftersun”, a rhythmic and fun album with the percussionist Weedie Braimah, followed by Laurance’s first live album, recorded at London’s Union Chapel.
In the 2019, Laurance has published his fifth album, “Cables”, coinciding with the launch of his record label, Flint Music. His first concept album draws inspiration from the exponential growth of technology and with an entirely solo recording in which Laurance plays every instrument. Its electronic textures, inventive production and post-production of the piano were made with the assistance of co-producer and engineer, Nic Hard.
Student of the Sundance Composer Lab at Skywalker Sound, Laurance recently contributed to the documentary “David Crosby: Remember My Name“, and he wrote his first soundtrack film score for “Un Traductor“, both of which had received nominations at the Sundance Film Festival, respectively in 2017 and 2018. Laurance’s third contribution is for “Initials SG” short film, which won the Tribeca Film Festival Nora Ephron Award.
