Ferdinando Romano, double bass player and composer, has been on the jazz scene for some time and he boasts an activity as a composer in the classical-contemporary field which leads his music to have an accurate distribution of voices, contrapuntal lines, effective harmonic systems and a predilection for timbre combinations.
Romano was ranked first in the Top Jazz 2020 of Musica Jazz as “Best New Italian Talent” and his record “Totem” has ranked eighth in the “Best Italian Record” category of the same year. The latter is his first album as a leader, released on April 24, 2020 for the Norwegian label Losen Records.
The album has received wide international acclaim, reviewed all over the world by major magazine, also online, as evidenced by the magazine Musica Jazz, which considers it as a “brilliant record, expression of a very clear talent, all to be listened to.” In addition, the project was included in the best jazz releases of Aprile in the “Il Giornale della Musica”, and it was presented in many radio broadcasts in Europe and in the United States.
