Dimitri Grechi Espinoza: tenor saxophone;
Dimitri Grechi Espinoza dedicates himselft from an early age to jazz music and to the study of the sax, attending the “Jazz Mobile” in New York and completing the high professional qualification courses at the National Academy “Siena Jazz”, with the Italian saxophonist Pietro Tonolo. His music is contaminated by the cultures of Eastern Europe, but, at the same time, also by the Italian and American jazz tradition. In addition, Espinoza has strong links with Africa, strengthened by the collaboration with Goma Parfait Ludovic, director of the Congolese company “Yela Wa”, in the context of research on the tradition of African healing music with seminars and performances.
The solo project “OREB combines his two great passions, the study of sacred science in traditional cultures and the search for sound, with the aim of rediscovering the sound space of sacred places. The project consists of three albums: the first is “Angel’s Blows” from 2014, “Recreatio” from 2016 and “The Spiritual Way” from 2019.
