Hobby Horse is a collective trio that was born in 2010, immediately gaining notoriety for its tendency to go beyond the boundaries of jazz, freely drawing on other genres to create its own original and difficult to classify language. The music of Hobby Horse is an unpredictable mix of styles and genres, sometimes violent encounters between musical languages, from slam poetry to hip hop, bossa nova, psychedelia, prog rock, techno and chamber music. Hypnotic and mysterious drones alternate with violent bursts of energy, all combined by a subtle timbre and melodic attention, a sense of constant discovery and a palpable musical tension. Despite the enormous risks taken during the performances, the concerts always find a musical form with its incontrovertible logic, the result of mutual trust and long shared experience. Perhaps it is precisely in this quest for freedom and in the exploration of impossible encounters that the surprising musical consistency of the Hobby Horse.
Concert realized in collaboration with I-jazz and the support of the Mibac.
