Enzo Favata is one of the most active and well-known Sardinian musicians in the Italian and international music scene. He has played all over the world bringing his projects in festivals and contexts of particular prestige, such as in the “La Recoleta” theater in Buenos Aires and in the jazz festival organized in Tokyo.
The latest album “The Crossing“, which takes the name of his new band, constitutes a passage and temporal crossing from jazz prog of the Seventies to the present day, with electronic keyboards and riffs and mixed notes, which lead to obtaining a contemporary and original sound. The album comes after two years of festival concerts in England, Japan, Asia and South America.
“The Crossing is also the name of the band which I had been planning to create for a long time – explains Favata -. In order to write and create music also with the electronics, I needed to find jazz players who have a new way of dealing musical materials, and who were free and masters of jazz and other languages.” Getting in touch with this band means immersing yourself in a kaleidoscope of sounds and musical styles with multiple forms.
