L\u2019ispirazione nasce dal grande patrimonio della tradizione afro-cubana con un repertorio in parte originale ed in parte costituito da \u201cclassici\u201d rivisitati in chiave afro-latina con un tocco di acida psichedelia: gli otto musicisti si muovono dal jazz contemporaneo al cubop impastandoli con poliritmie africane, improvvisazione, rumba tradizionale e ricerca timbrica. Il risultato finale \u00e8 un sound che fonde tradizione e modernit\u00e0 con destinazione Guantanamo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In questo contesto il pianista, siciliano ma ormai bolognese di adozione, rivendica il predominio della componente ritmica su quella armonico\u2013melodica. Ci\u00f2 risulta ancor pi\u00f9 evidente per la presenza, oltre che dell\u2019usuale coppia contrabbasso\u2013batteria, di ben due percussionisti e del vibrafono di Pasquale Mirra.
