THOMAS ENHCO

Thomas Encho: piano

... the classical background (Schumann, Chopin, Prokofiev) is clearly present in Enhco, but what he is able to incorporate into jazz history is phenomenal. Comparing it with jazz legends is all too easy, but everyone will agree that Enhco has a more than convincing talent - Dick Hovenga, WrittenInMusic.com

Born in Paris thirty years ago in a family of musicians, Thomas Enhco he began studying the violin and the piano as a child, forming both instruments in both classical and jazz music, as well as in composition. After completing his studies at Didier Lockwood's jazz school and the Paris Conservatory, he released 7 albums as a leader and held an average of 120 concerts a year, both for seasons and classical music and jazz festivals. Last year he made his debut as a soloist with various symphony orchestras, from that of Lorraine to that of Avignon up to the National Orchestra of France, interpreting the Concert and Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, but also, among others, the Concerto K. 491 by Mozart, Ravel's Concerto in G and his Piano Concerto, commissioned by the Pau Pays de Béarn Orchestra.

Thomas is among the artists awarded by the BNP Paribas Foundation and continues to tread the scenes around the world, conquering the most diverse audiences with his versatility, from the Paris Philharmonic to the Salzburg Mozarteum, from La Roque d'Anthéron to the Tokyo Jazz Festival, from the Montreaux Festival to the North Sea Jazz Festival.
